-Members who meet all participation and conduct requirements and demonstrate exemplary attendance, consistent leadership, compassion, positivity , and commitment to humanitarian service will be recognized with the Dominican Red Cross Club Presidential Service Award.

This award is presented at the end of the academic year by the Club President/Founder and Faculty Advisor and recognizes members who reflect the mission and values of the American Red Cross and Dominican University of California.

●Senior Red Cross Graduation Honors:
-Graduating members who meet all club participation, service, and conduct requirements will be eligible to receive Senior Red Cross cords and stoles, which will be worn at Dominican University of California commencement ceremonies.

Eligibility requirements include:
-Maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
-Completing at least 10 verified service hours with the Dominican American Red Cross Chapter Club
-Remaining in good standing as a registered American Red Cross volunteer

-This honor recognize graduating students as red cross members for their humanitarian service, leadership, academic achievement, and commitment during their time with the Dominican American Red Cross Chapter Club.

The Penguin Pantry: Dominican students, faculty and staff are welcome to volunteer at the weekly Penguin Pantry, held outside of Albertus Magnus on Wednesdays during the academic year. We work with the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank to receive deliveries to be distributed to any interested students. Students have the option to pick up pre-bagged items or choose what they would like each week which allows for individual autonomy and limited food waste.

DU Rotaract seeks to provide its members with an environment to foster engagement with the Dominican and San Rafael community, collaborate between peers across all areas of study, and practice leadership by taking on projects to benefit Dominican’s community. Rotaract’s mission is to develop student-led, innovative solutions that help local and international communities in “Service
Above Self”. Specifically, DU Rotaract focuses on peer-community collaboration while practicing
leadership that creates positive change. We achieve this through a multitude of projects including
collaborations with fellow Rotary clubs, campus pop ups and or events, as well as Rotaract socials in
efforts to inspire students to join the club and use their passions for the greater good.

The Senior Smiles Project will be a volunteering club at Dominican that provides group volunteering opportunities, serving senior communities within local nursing homes. Oftentimes, nursing homes and hospice facilities rely solely on volunteers for patient companionship.  This club can provide nursing & pre-health students with opportunities to gain soft skills as well as exposure to a healthcare environment, while also making a positive impact within the senior community. My club may dedicate two days of the month to working together with patients in nursing homes. Together, we will host activities such as arts and crafts, games, movie days, ice cream socials, etc.
